10 Takeaways from SXSW 2023
Sorry for not writing these last two weeks but, boy, do I have a great story to tell in this blog post. I finally crossed the big Pond for the first time and travelled to Austin, Texas, where I attended one of the most popular Festivals in the USA: South by Southwest, or as it is called by everyone SXSW.
As described best, SXSW is “an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly”. Basically it is a place where all the big names of all the above mentioned industry professionals meet, drink, party and build new businesses. What started as a music festival in 1987 expanded to a heavyweight event that hosted more than 300.000 people in 2023 spread all across Downtown Austin.
With more than 200.000 steps registered in the 10 days of SXSW, I have 10 takeaways that I want to share with you:

How does a writer become a screenwriter?
A lot of people think that if you know how to write a script, you can automatically be a writer. The same happens to screenwriters who think they can automatically be writers. I do not embrace this popular opinion and I will explain why.
First of all, to make a difference between a writer and a screenwriter, I will be discussing a bit about the technique to write a script, compared to that of writing a novel. A screenplay is written in present tense. You cannot write it differently. Basically, the main difference between a script and a novel is that in the script we write only what we see and hear... here and now. The script is meant to become a film and in a film we only see and hear what is going on right now. If we change the place or time the action occurs, then it is mandatory to change the scene.
In literature, things are quite different. There are cases when authors opt to write their books in a way that resembles scripts (present tense) but it is not mandatory. A book use...

What is Live Shopping?
Since I joined the Streams.live team in 2022, I received this question a thousand times. So, I will try to briefly explain what’s going on with this Live Shopping concept that I am talking about wherever I am going.
