Moto: “As is a tale, so is life. Not how long it is, but how good it is” – Seneca

I created this blog because of a story that I will share with you. My Facebook account got hacked, two posts were made by the hacker and these posts violated Facebook’s Community Standards. I was banned from there in a flash and nobody cared about my appeals. In just a few minutes, all the content I posted there, all the pictures, all the memories and all my contacts were gone. So that made me realize Social Media is really not the best thing out there. Content on social media is not ours. It’s social media’s content. Obviously, I’m back on Facebook and Instagram, and you can find me on Linkedin here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mihaimanescu/, but this time I’m using social media right: to promote my stories and get people to come on MY website to read them.

So, coming back to this section, I can say a lot of things about me, but I think these words reflect it best:

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

So, yes, I don’t claim that I am a master in the Storytelling trade, but this is my end goal. Hopefully I will get there before my story ends, but as fairytales have it: It’s more about the journey than it is about the treasure.

I have quite a few stories to tell about my life so far. I’ve been working in the film industry since I went into the Film School (National University of Film and Theatre “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, Romania) where I studied Screenwriting & Communications between 2003 and 2007. Then, I became a Screenwriting Assistant Lecturer in 2007 and taught Screenwriting ever since. For more than 10 years I am a Screenwriting Lecturer at Hyperion University.

Obviously, teaching screenwriting cannot happen without a PhD, so I got mine in 2011 with an interdisciplinary thesis on Screenwriting structure, Mythology and History of Religions. For the last subject, I completed an MA in Western Esotericism at the University of Exeter (UK).

I have done a few feature films, 3 to be exact: “The Last Incubus” (2014), “Live” (2015) and “The Wishing Tree: Childhood memories” (2022). All of them can be watched on Netflix Romania. For my other film projects, you can check my IMDB profile

In my quest to seek stories and share them with the world, I embarked on an adventure in the world of business, where I coordinated the Communications for one of the leading medical NGOs in Romania, HOSPICE Casa Speranţei. Here, I used Storytelling techniques at the core of the communications strategy and helped the NGO become one of the leading organizations in Romania, from a communications standpoint. The campaigns I coordinated helped the fundraising team achieve their target and generate more than 10 million euros throughout the years.

Now, I am telling my stories in the tech industry, where I am a Live Shopping Evangelist for Streams.live, one of the leading Live Shopping platforms out there. I tell my stories to develop the Live Shopping market in Romania and Eastern Europe, as I am in charge with the new customers who are willing to try out this new hot trend in the international eCommerce. In short, I help them understand the concept and how to achieve success with it.

So, on this page you will find information on Business storytelling and its many topics, tips & tricks from the storytelling craft that you will be able to use in writing your own scripts, books or stories and some other random stories about my activity, projects and things I discover on my journeys.

Hope you’re going to like it!
